We hope you will join us as we have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Cheryl Chapman as she speaks on the Missouri River Water for Western South Dakota!  Dr. Chapman is the Executive Director of the Western Dakota Regional Water System, Inc. a non-profit dedicated to the planning, funding and operating a bulk water system from the Missouri River to the western half of the state.  We hope you will join us for a fascinating and informative event.

About the Speaker Dr. Cheryl Chapman, PhD, PE:

Dr. Chapman has more than 45 years in the engineering field, holding top management and leadership positions in the private, government, and academic sectors.  Dr. Chapman has worked with communities, Tribes, and rural water systems to form the Western Dakota Regional Water System, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to planning, funding, and operating a bulk water system from the Missouri River to the western half of the state.  She serves as the organization’s first Executive Director, guiding the initial steps of this major project.  Dr. Chapman’s undergraduate degrees in math and civil engineering are from South Dakota Mines and her doctorate from South Dakota State University.  She is a former Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Installations and Environment) and a former Pennington County (South Dakota) Commissioner, providing leadership on many local government policy and management initiatives.   Dr. Chapman has recently chaired the Black Hills Military Advisory Coalition, Calvary Lutheran Church Council, Rocky Mountain Regional Board of Thrivent, and was Treasurer of the Badlands National Park Conservancy.  She has 3 adult children and is married to Malcom Chapman.

Doors open for lunch at 11:00 am and the program will run from 11:45 am - 1:00 pm.
